Quick Thought of the Day…
In a field, one summer’s day, a Grasshopper was hopping about, chirping and singing to its heart’s content. An Ant passed by, bearing along with great toil an ear of corn he was taking to the nest.
‘Why not come and chat with me,’ inquired the Grasshopper, ‘the sun is shining, and it’s a warm and beautiful day.’
‘I am helping to lay up food for the winter,’ said the Ant, ‘and recommend you to do the same.’
‘Why bother about winter?’ laughed the Grasshopper; ‘We have got plenty of food at present, and why waste a lovely day on work and labor,’ and off went the Grasshopper, singing and dancing in the meadow. But the Ant went on its way and continued its work.
When the winter finally came the Grasshopper had no food and found itself dying of hunger, while it saw the ants distributing the corn and grain from the stores they had collected in the summer.
Then the Grasshopper knew: It’s better to plan ahead for tomorrow today.
It’s so easy to put off the jobs and chores we don’t want to do. Unfortunately, like the Grasshopper, procrastination can create a much larger problem in the long run!
If procrastination is an issue for you, the very worst thing you can do is procrastinate on finding a solution.
